Method Detail

truncateNames

java.lang.String[] truncateNames(java.lang.String primaryIdentifier,
                                 java.lang.String secondaryIdentifier,
                                 int length)

Truncates the primary and secondary identifiers. The resulting array has length 2 and contains the truncated primary and secondary identifiers. Each identifier consists of components separated by "<". The maximum length of the resulting primaryIdentifier + "<<" secondaryIdentifier is length.

Parameters:

primaryIdentifier - the original primary identifier

secondaryIdentifier - the original secondary identifier

length - the maximum length of the resulting identifier (including the "<<"

Returns:

an array of length 2 containing the resulting identifier

transliterate

java.lang.String transliterate(java.lang.String text)

Transliterates text, replacing non-ISO characters with ISO characters.

Parameters:

text - some text containing non-ISO characters

Returns:

the same text containing only ISO characters
