Enum Architecture

  • All Implemented Interfaces:
    java.io.Serializable, java.lang.Comparable<Architecture>

    public enum Architecture
    extends java.lang.Enum<Architecture>
    Represents the known architectures used in WebDriver. It attempts to smooth over some of Java's rough edges when dealing with microprocessor architectures by, for instance, allowing you to query if a particular architecture is 32- or 64-bit.

      • values

        public static Architecture[] values()
        Returns an array containing the constants of this enum type, in the order they are declared. This method may be used to iterate over the constants as follows:
        for (Architecture c : Architecture.values())
            System.out.println(c);

        Returns:
        an array containing the constants of this enum type, in the order they are declared
      • valueOf

        public static Architecture valueOf(java.lang.String name)
        Returns the enum constant of this type with the specified name. The string must match exactly an identifier used to declare an enum constant in this type. (Extraneous whitespace characters are not permitted.)
        Parameters:
        name - the name of the enum constant to be returned.
        Returns:
        the enum constant with the specified name
        Throws:
        java.lang.IllegalArgumentException - if this enum type has no constant with the specified name
        java.lang.NullPointerException - if the argument is null
      • is

        public boolean is(Architecture compareWith)
        Heuristic for comparing two architectures. If architectures are found to be in the same "architecture family" (e.g. i386, i686, x86 and ia32 are considered related), they will match.
        Parameters:
        compareWith - the architecture to compare with
        Returns:
        true if architectures belong to the same architecture family, false otherwise
      • getDataModel

        public int getDataModel()
        Gets the data model of the architecture. The data model tells you how big memory addresses are on the given microprocessor architecture.
        Returns:
        32- or 64-bit depending on architecture
      • toString

        public java.lang.String toString()
        Overrides:
        toString in class java.lang.Enum<Architecture>
      • getCurrent

        public static Architecture getCurrent()
        Gets current architecture.
        Returns:
        current architecture
      • extractFromSysProperty

        public static Architecture extractFromSysProperty(java.lang.String arch)
        Extracts architectures based on system properties in Java and a heuristic to overcome differences between JDK implementations. If not able to determine the operating system's architecture, it will throw.
        Parameters:
        arch - the architecture name to determine the architecture of
        Returns:
        the most likely architecture based on the given architecture name
        Throws:
        java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException - if the architecture given is unknown or unsupported
